Abstract

Many barotrauma of the inner ear had been reported from Macfie in 1964, they had been to know that vestibulocochlear symptoms developed simultaneously in most cases. Although selective cochlear symptoms were rare in barotrauma, and it had been
limited
to diagnose inner ear injury of the barotrauma. Also, the treatments had been done with conservative and operative care with limitation.
The causes of sudden sensorineural hearing loss had been studied, but they could not be to know causes clearly.
Recently, we experienced a case of sudden sensorineural hearing loss followed by the hyperbaric oxygen therapy in liqufied petrolium gas (LPG) intoxication. (Korean J Otolaryngol 38:5, 1995)
